Joseph Teti

I would like to take a moment and impart my thoughts on my training philosophy regardless of the subject matter. Some of this may sound a bit harsh, but certainly less harsh if you make the wrong choice when it comes to learning potentially life saving skills.

I believe in the building block model of skill development, regardless of the skill being learned. One must master the basic skills first in order to build a solid platform onto which more advanced concepts can be added. One must continually train in the basic skills in order for those skills to become reflexive. Once basic skills are committed to memory and become reflexive, you are now able to focus your attention on more complex skills and techniques. In my opinion there is no other way to train. This is the way I have been trained for the past 20+ years, and it has never failed me, even in the most unforgiving of circumstances.

So what “qualifies” someone to teach what we teach? I believe the answer has several aspects to it. If I were going to take a course of instruction in a subject matter that has the potential to save my life in the event of a “worst case scenario”, there are several things I would ask myself in regards to who is teaching me. Here are a few of my questions.

  1. Where did this person learn what they are teaching?
  2. Was the place they learned these skills somewhere that required high levels of performance and expertise of the skills
    they are teaching?
  3. Are they able to demonstrate high levels of proficiency in the subject matter being taught while in front of students?
  4. Do they possess “real world” application of the subject matter being taught?
  5. Are they a “hobbyist”, or do they teach the subject matter for a living?
  6. Do they have references of others they have taught?
  7. Are they willing to let you review their credentials?

These are a few questions I would have, and hopefully you do as well. I would like to caution you of a few things that I have personally
seen over the past 20 years when it comes to “tactical” type training. Beware of the term “expert”. As we all know, 99% of all “experts” are
self-proclaimed. That is one word you will never hear come out of my mouth. I consider myself a perpetual student, as I believe a true professional is constantly striving for new levels of knowledge and performance. Beware of the instructor that says, “this is the only way to do this.” I can assure you there is more than one way to do a lot of what we teach. For someone to say their way is the only way is not only arrogant, but very myopic.

There are a lot of training companies out there. Take your time and conduct a thorough due diligence of those who you will be training with. Tactical training is an investment of your time and money, and quality instruction will save you both.

Lastly, we take what we teach to our students very seriously as we know that in the event someone we have taught has to put what they have learned into action, there is a very good chance their life will hang in the balance.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. I will personally respond to your phone calls and emails.

Respectfully,

Joseph N. Teti

2-DAY DISASTER PREPARDNESS COURSE   (How to make a Bug Out Bag)

2daypreparadness

In the event of a natural or man made disaster only those who are prepared ahead of time to deal with such a situation will most likely live to talk about it.  Even the Department of Homeland Security talks about “basic disaster kits” on their website.  If ever the term, “better to have than need, than need and not have” applies…it is for this exact reason.

This man portable kit should contain essential items needed to survive for a minimum of 72 hours in the event of a disaster.  The focus should be on evacuation, not long term survival, which distinguishes a “bug out bag” from a “survival kit”.

Your instructor Joseph Teti has over 20 years in military and government special operations, and has built and used bug out bags during his career while operating overseas in non-permissive environments.  He will show you how to build your entire bug out bag from items purchased at a local Wal-Mart.
